Schule war außen am Gebäude nicht ausgeschildert und man musste sich beim Pförtner anmelden. Für Anfänger vielleicht etwas schwierig. Räume sehr hellhörig. Die Lehrer sind ausgesprochen nett und hilfsbereit.Insgesamt alles in Ordnung. Typisch englischer / kanadischer Haushalt Stadtrundgang und Besuch des botanischen Gartens

The Language Gallery, Birmingham
Duration: 8 weeks

My stay at TLG was one of the best decisions I took in a very long time. It was very enriching, because I was surrounded by classmates and friends of different cultures, who are now almost my family. I learned many things and I partially overcame my fear of speaking English. I have to thank my teachers, who were very patient, funny and humanly extraordinary – in particular Malika, who helped us when we had all kind of problems, in or outside the school.

The Language Gallery, Birmingham
Duration: 8 weeks

My experience was very interesting and enriching; I enjoyed it a lot. As for the city, it’s definitely not the nicest nor cleanest I’ve ever seen, but it offers plenty of activities and cultural attractions, it’s cosmopolitan and not boring at all.

The school is great; teachers and students are amazing. I really liked the teaching method and the energy in each class. I learned a lot and improved my skills. I recommend this school. The only weakness was the occasional malfunctioning of IT equipment and Internet, because it slowed down the course a few times. But overall – it was fantastic!

Host family
If you wish to have direct insight into the lifestyle of Birmingham locals (known in Britain as “Brummies”), you have to live in immersion with a host family. It is the best way to pick up the language and dip into a typically English atmosphere. Many families live within 30 minutes’ commute of the course centre. Your hosts will make a single room available for you and share the communal areas with you. Whether you choose the half board or breakfast only option, you will share nice moments with your host family. A friendship which often lasts long after the end of the language course!

With your new international friends, set off to explore England’s greatest attractions. The course centre offers excursions to London, Oxford, Stonehenge, Bath, Stratford upon Avon, Manchester, Wales, Scotland and many other places. The city of Birmingham itself abounds with treasures, including museums, shows, theatres, but also shopping areas, peaceful pedestrian areas, leafy parks and kilometres of canals across the city. Be sure to visit the Balti Triangle, which is home to some of the best Pakistani food in the United Kingdom, the lively bars and cafés of Gas Street Basin and the National Sea Life Centre. Our partner school organises a weekly activities programme with guided city tours, outings, movie nights and sporting events, among others. The “cinema” and “conversation” clubs allow you to perfect your language level by taking part in thematic debates or discussions together with the other participants from throughout the world.
