Our partner school selects its host families with special care. All live in Brooklyn, 25-45 minutes to where the classes take place – depending on the location of each class. Staying with an American family is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in their culture and practise English in everyday life situations. You will stay in a single bedroom and choose from breakfast only, half-board or just the room.
Coliving Brooklyn (2-week stays minimum)
Our partner school’s co-living houses are located in 3 different areas in Brooklyn: the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Bushwick in northern Brooklyn, trendy and lively Williamsburg, and the popular area of Downtown Brooklyn.
All of the houses are new and fully furnished. They include several comfortable communal areas such as kitchens, living rooms and co-working spaces. If you choose to stay at the Williamsburg or Downtown Brooklyn co-living houses, you’ll enjoy a private bedroom; while at the Bushwick house, you’ll have a choice between a private or a shared bedroom (with another occupant of the house of the same gender).
Living in a co-living house offers everything you need to enjoy the New York lifestyle: a safe and comfy home, a sociable and fun environment, and a great location! You won’t even have to worry about bringing your own towels or cleaning during your stay – everything is provided!
Coliving Manhattan (2-week stays minimum)
Our partner school also offers co-living houses in 3 areas around Manhattan: the cultural hub of Harlem/Upper Manhattan; the Lenox Hill area of the Upper East Side with ideal transit links to downtown Manhattan; and Central Park North, near the Upper West Side and Harlem.
In these co-living spaces you will also common areas like kitchens, living rooms and co-working spaces, allowing you to socialise with people from all over the world! You can choose to stay either in a private or a shared bedroom with another occupant of the house of the same gender. Bathrooms are usually shared, but private bathrooms are available in some houses, on request and at an extra cost.
The school will take you to discover amazing attractions in the area. Make sure to take advantage of the free tours organised by the school to off-the-beaten-track places you may otherwise miss! Explore the Brooklyn Flea Market, meet amazing people, grab one-off bargains and taste international food at every corner. Brooklyn offers intense nightlife, alternative clubs and friendly bars, perfect for a night out. If you decide to spend the night in Manhattan, be sure to cross the famous Brooklyn Bridge and see the sun set behind the skyscrapers. There are so many things to explore and enjoy in the city that never sleeps, so get ready for an incredible language study stay in the USA!
