"Deutsch und Praktikum" programme
In this dynamic region favouring interaction between students and professional activities, the school has put the "Deutsch und Praktikum" programme in place. You will reinforce your language knowledge acquired during the classes through your integration in a company as an intern, and the day-to-day work with your colleagues, clients and employers will be the opportunity to put your German into practice in various situations. The school plays an active role in the coordination for company placement and maintaining contact with the participant during their internship. Very often perceived as a sign of flexibility, of voluntarism and of the mastery of the language, the internship abroad will enrich your personal development. This is a real golden opportunity to develop your German language knowledge and to add a winning asset to your CV.
The programme takes place in 2 phases:
The first phase is dedicated to the acquisition of language knowledge (in order to reach a B2 or C1 level). It is here that the basis of a fruitful activity in the company is established.
Intensive German course
Lessons: 30 of 45 minutes
(20 general + 10 in mini group)
Duration: min. 8 weeks
Levels: Intermediate to advanced
*Students/class: max. 12 ( max. 8) people
Minimum age: 18 years
Daily schedule: 09:00-12:15 or 13:00-16:15 + 16:45-18:15
The second part of the programme, the internship, takes place as a general rule over 6 to 12 weeks. If the student so wishes and depending on the availabilities of the company, the duration may be extended. Students aiming for a longer duration must express this wish during enrolment. However, the extension should not exceed 50% of the time initially foreseen.
*The school fixes the following minimum language conditions for the available professional sectors:
B2: necessary for technical professions, nursery school teacher, professions in the social sector, craftwork, tourism, medical sector and IT.
C1: recommended for all administrative professions (management, secretarial work, adminstration assistance)

The language school regularly organises language training programmes for local companies. The school knows its contacts, their preferences and the particularities of their companies - a very sound advantage for the students!

Continuing the immersion in the German language by staying with a host family is the surest way for students to progress quickly. Situated between 15 and 30 minutes by public transport from the school, the families propose a single room and the sharing of the common rooms of the house. You have a choice between breakfast only, half board or full board being provided.
The residence is situated in an 8-storey building, 20 minutes by tram from the city centre. By accommodating both international students and German university students, this accommodation structure favours encounters and language exchanges and established a very convivial atmosphere. Each bedroom has a private bathroom. A well-equipped shared kitchen is available for use by all of the residents on each floor of the building.
Check-in time: Sundays at 6 pm.
As the option of a shared apartment is very popular in Germany, the school proposes bedrooms in apartments. In a traditional WG (Wohngemeinschaft), the student stays in a single furnished room and shares the apartment with local inhabitants (a single person or a couple). They therefore share the living room, bathroom and kitchen with the regular residents. Shared accommodation among students is quite rare and is generally only available during the university holiday period.
