Our partner school is located in a modern and well-equipped building, close to the city centre of Santo Domingo and just near the bus stop that links you to San Jose or Heredia in less than 10 minutes. The classrooms are spacious and bright. A very pleasant garden is available to you, so you can make the most of the sunshine during breaks and get to know the other international students at the school. Classes in small groups (max. 8 students) allow you to study Spanish in an intensive manner, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with experienced, motivated teachers available to help you. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié!Nourriture excellente, laver vêtements une fois, maison avec tranquillité, propreté et sécurité.Aspect à éviter: deux autres personnes, dont une, était participante à l'école Don Quijote pour parfaire l'espagnol, logeaient chez Liliane Campos. La langue de communication était l'anglais. Nous n'avons pas pratiqué l'espagnol le soir ou le matin lors des repas. L'anglais devenait la langue qui nous permettait d'échanger sur une base commune.Je crois que si il n'y avait que deux personnes avec cette famille, cela aurait été plus favorable à la pratique de l'espagnol, de ce que nous apprenions à l'école ... enfin dans la même continuité pour consolider les apprentissages. Les activités à l'école: pertinentes et intéressantes*cuisiner et manger un menu typique du Costa Rica*connaître une pratique en lien avec le caféles activités hors école:pertinentes et intéressantes*visite des environs avec professeur*visite du mercado + repasCafé-social: aller dans un restaurant et commander dans la langue, cette activité fut moins réussie, communication entre nous en anglais!

Mein Sprachaufenthalt in Santo Domingo, Costa Rica, verlief sehr gut. Mit der Familie hatte ich Glück, die mich sofortherzlich aufgenommen, respektiert und akzeptiert hat. An Familienanlässe wurde ich eingeladen und konnte auchan Ausflügen teilnehmen. Heute stehen wir in einem freundschaftlichen Verhältnis. Die Schule konnte ich zu Fuss erreichen (ca. 10-15 Minuten), was mir persönlich gefiel. Das Gebäude war einladend, in den Farben bunt gehalten und hübsch dekoriert, jeweils entsprechend dem Anlass (Weihnachten, Valentinstag). DieSchule organisierte Ausflüge, Kochkurse, Café social, Tanzkurse um uns der Kultur näher zu bringen. Auch durch dieFamilie konnte ich die Mentalität der dort ansässigen Menschen kennenlernen sowie durch meine Reisen. Hatte 3 verschiedene Lehrer während meiner 3 monatigen Schulzeit. Finde ich ein Vorteil, weil mitverschiedenen Lernmethoden unterrichtet wird.

Wenn man nicht lernt, kommt man in der Gruppe nicht weiter und es ist extrem frustrierend. Wer Spanisch lernen will, ist hier gut aufgehoben und wird gefördert. »

Santo Domingo de Heredia ist ein kleiner ruhiger Ort, jedoch sehr zentral gelegen. In 15 Minuten erreicht man die Hauptstadt und andere grössere Ortschaften. Weil es hier so klein und ruhig ist spricht auch noch fast niemand Englisch, man wird also forciert Spanisch zu benutzen, was meiner Meinung nach sehr hilfreich ist.Costa Rica hat sehr viele schöne Orte, die es zu besichtigen lohnt, sind aber oft sehr touristisch und dem entsprechend teuer.

Host family
Our partner school personally selects families to welcome its students. Located no more than 15 minutes from the school, you will have your own room and will share the common areas with the family. You will be able to choose between half and full board and your clothes washing will be taken care of. This accommodation option will allow you to get to know the Costa Rican lifestyle with its warm and open inhabitants, and to practise Spanish daily in a friendly and motivating atmosphere.

San Pablo shared apartment (from 18 years)
This student accommodation is located a 20-minute walk from the school (or 5 minutes by bus) in a safe and monitored residential area. The shared apartment features 4 bedrooms (1 single, 2 twin and 1 triple), 2 shared bathrooms, a lounge with TV and a shared, fully equipped kitchen. Bed linen and towels are provided, the Wi-Fi and washing machine are free and the apartment is cleaned twice per week. Enjoy the garden, the BBQ area and the swimming pool with your international friends!

San Pablo

General information

Our student apartment is just 5 minutes by bus (excellent public transport) and a 20-minute walk from the school. The building is located in a residential area where students will have a good experience interacting with their Ticos neighbours and learning about their customs. Something to take into account is that at the main entrance of the neighbourhood, there is a government police post for the safety of students and neighbours in general.
