ELC Sydney offers internship programmes in various fields, according to the candidate’s profile.
The candidates must fulfil the following requirements in order to carry out an internship in Australia:
- Studies in the chosen area, completed at the latest 12 months prior to the beginning of the internship (graduation certificate required)
- Age: 18 to 30 years
- Be eligible for a Working Holiday Visa* or a special program internship visa
- Résumé and cover letter in English
- Application file must be sent at the same time as the enrolment form
- Achieve a B2 level of English or above by the end of the course (8 weeks minimum). If B2 is not achieved, student must enrol in more weeks of class)
- Copy of a bank statement showing the equivalent of $2,100 or higher.
WHV available for the citizens of the following countries: Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong (SAR), Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malta, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan and the United Kingdom
The internships represent the opportunity to add a professional and cultural dimension to your language study stay in a targeted sector of activity. The internship is carried out following a minimum of 8 weeks of an intensive course of general English. The participants need to have acquired sound language skills (level 6 - B2 - required, see table).
The internships take place over a duration of between 6 and a maximum of 24 weeks. Most of the placements do not go beyond 12 weeks. They are proposed here in the form of packages including various course + internship options according to the duration, objectives and language level of each student. Depending on each student’s level of education, work experience, desired placement length and visa options, various program options are available and the prices may change accordingly.

Living with a host family is a great way of immersing yourself in the Australian way of life during your stay in Sydney. You will stay in a single room with half board provided and will be around 30-55 minutes away from the school.
Studyhouse student house (minimum stay: 2 weeks)
The ELC language school proposes staying in one of its student houses, which have been renovated and are equipped to offer you a maximum of comfort. They have an excellent location, as they are all close to each other and only a 10 minutes' walk away from the school, just on the opposite side of Darling Harbour, in the centre of Sydney. You will stay in a single, double or triple room, and will share the modern facilities with your housemates, including the equipped kitchen, the two bathrooms, a lounge with a flat-screen TV and computer, the WiFi connection available throughout the building and you will have a magnetic card for accessing the residence. Availability is limited and therefore, it is recommended to book in advance.
ELC residence (minimum stay: 10 weeks)
The very comfortable apartments offered to international students are located in a modern building in the centre of Sydney, 10 minutes’ walk from the language school building. Close to public transport, shops and restaurants, you will be staying in a single room in an apartment that you will share with 5 other students. The apartments are air-conditioned and include a large well-equipped kitchen. The 24h/24 reception desk, large social area, outdoor BBQ area, games area and TV lounge will allow you to get to know the other tenants quickly. Wi-Fi access is available in the common areas. There is a weekly housekeeping service and you will be able to use the coin-operated laundry facilities. The building also includes a bike storage room.
Link2 student house (minimum 2 weeks)
Consisting of modern houses, this accommodation is located in the heart of Sydney, a 10-minute walk from the school. In an international atmosphere, you will be close to plenty of different attractions. You will stay in a single bedroom and share the bathroom with maximum 4 other students; if you travel with a friend, you can share a twin room. For more comfort, each room offers free Wi-Fi and air-conditioning. Bed linen and towels are at your disposal, as well as a shared kitchen, a paying laundry and a student lounge with TV.
