Living and Learning in Málaga

Daily life here means breakfast at a street-side café with a coffee and a tostada con tomate, afternoons that move between the classroom and the seafront, and evenings that start late and run long in the way that Spanish cities do. You'll adapt faster than you expect.

City center of Málaga, Spain, featuring bustling streets with famous stores and historic architecture

How transport works while studying abroad in Málaga

Málaga's city buses and metro cover the main student areas reliably, and a single fare costs around €1.40. The city centre is walkable enough that many students barely use public transport at all during the working week. For day trips, the coastal rail line connects you to Torremolinos, Fuengirola, and beyond in under forty minutes.

Accommodation in Málaga

ESL offers student residences in Málaga that put you right where you need to be: close to your school, safe, and fully equipped so you can focus on improving your English from day one. They're also where you'll meet the rest of your cohort, other international students in the same situation, which tends to make settling in a lot faster.

Attractions in Málaga

The beach is the main event, and La Malagueta puts it ten minutes from the city centre on foot. After class, you can be in the water, on a paddleboard, or horizontal on the sand before the afternoon is out! For students who want more than sunbathing, the coastline around Málaga is perfect for jet skiing, kayaking, windsurfing, and sailing.

Getting your visa for an English course in Málaga

If you’re an EU or EEA national, you can study in Spain without a visa, regardless of how long your course is. Students from outside the EU staying for more than 90 days will need to apply for a student visa before they travel; those staying for under 90 days can usually enter under the standard Schengen agreement. In either case, our team will be able to assist you with all the visa queries you may have.
