Founded in 1991, Langue Onze is located right in the centre of Toulouse, in the historic centre, 5 minutes’ walk from the Place du Capitole and 2 minutes from the metro. Classes take place in 7 bright, air-conditioned classrooms, on the 1st and 3rd floors of a charming building with an interior courtyard. Op de school heb ik niet altijd lessen op mijn niveau kunnen volgen. Na ruim 2 maanden had ik op de voortgangstoets alle vaardigheden voor niveau B2 bereikt, maar er werd geen c1-klas gevormd, waardoor ik nog zeker ruim een maand gedwongen werd in B2 te zitten terwijl ik daar de grammatica al van beheerste en ook de thematiek van de lessen voor een tweede keer voorbij zag komen. Ook mijn docenten vonden dat ik en een aantal anderen beter af zouden zijn op niveau c1. Ik heb de pedagogiek-directie meerdere malen verzocht een c1-klas te maken, danwel de thematiek van B2 te vernieuwen, maar dit weigerde zij te doen.De school bezit niet veel faciliteiten; er is een kleine mediatheek-ruimte met wat computers, waar ook (studie)boeken en films geleend kunnen worden. Op zich zijn deze faciliteiten prima en behoeft een school als deze ook niet meer faciliteiten te hebben - meen ik - , al zou een goedwerkende wifi wel fijn zijn. Er wordt erg vaak van leerkracht gewisseld. Ik heb 18 weken op de school gezeten en heb 9 verschillende docenten gehad, waarbij ik meerdere docenten weliswaar meerdere weken heb gehad, maar niet opeenvolgende weken. Het kwam er dus op neer dat ik vrijwel elke week een andere docent had. Ik begrijp dat het goed is om af en toe te wisselen van docent, maar vrijwel elke week gaat erg ver vind ik. Het is fijn om de tijd de krijgen om aan de docent en zijn/haar manier van lesgeven te wennen en dat er voortgebouwd kan worden op wat de vorige weken is behandeld/geleerd. Bij mijn inschrijving was verteld dat ik in een gedeeld appartement zou komen te zitten met lokale studenten. Dit bleek echter niet waar te zijn; ik kreeg een kamer bij een hospita en deelde haar keuken. Hier was ik niet zo blij mee, aangezien ik juist bij studenten wilde wonen en niet bij een ouder echtpaar. In een studentenhuis heb je meer vrijheid; je voelt je minder opgelaten om de keuken te gebruiken, je kunt makkelijker een vriendin mee naar huis nemen (dat was verboden door mijn hospita) en je voelt je minder bezwaard laat thuis te komen na bijvoorbeeld een activiteit 's avonds. Ondanks het feit dat ik liever tussen de studenten had gezeten zoals mij ook beloofd was, kan ik niet klagen over mijn hospita. Zij was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Een nadeel was wel dat ik twee dagen per week niet kon koken op - een voor mij - heel normaal tijdstip (17.30u-18.00u), aangezien de keuken dan schoongemaakt werd. Ik heb deelgenomen aan 2 "clubs lecture" en aan 1 filmmiddag. Ik heb mij voor meerdere "clubs lecture" aangemeld, maar die gingen wegens gebrek aan animo telkens niet door. Dit gold overigens ook voor vrij veel andere activiteiten. Verder was het aanbod niet heel veelzijdig (er was geen enkele sportieve activiteit, terwijl dat wel in de beschrijving op de ESL-site stond) en waren de excursies vooral erg duur. Daar heb ik dan ook niet aan deelgenomen.

« Het grootste pluspunt van de school zijn de docenten; die zijn erg goed. Ik heb veel verschillende docenten gehad en natuurlijk sprak de één mij meer aan dan de ander, maar ik heb geen 'slechte' docenten gehad die hun les niet goed hadden voorbereid of niet enthousiast lesgaven. De docenten zijn stuk voor stuk erg betrokken en geïnteresseerd in de studenten en zijn gemotiveerd je te helpen met het verbeteren van je niveau. Ze zijn erg vriendelijk en ontvankelijk voor al je vragen over de Franse taal. Daarnaast hanteren de meeste docenten een gevarieerde lesstijl waarbij ook tijd is voor de nodige gekkigheid, grappen en gezelligheid. »

Per la seconda volta ho scelto un soggiorno linguistico proposto da esl. Organizzazione ottima, personale super professione, esperienza fantastica. Sicuramente ci sarà anche una terza volta. A Toulouse ho frequentato il corso di lingua francese presso la scuola Langueonze. Scuola ottima, docenti super preparati. Oltre alle classiche lezioni vengono offerti anche vari laboratori, attività extra ed escursioni.

Guest House (Shared apartment / homestay)
Practise your French language skills and learn about the local culture while living in a single room in a shared apartment or home. You’ll live with a local family or students, French and possibly international as well. Half-board and self-catering options are available. You’ll share common areas with your host family or flatmates as well as the kitchen if self-catering. Bed linen and towels are provided. Students travelling together can request to share a double/twin room. Once a week, the premises are cleaned and bed linen/towels are changed. You will be 15 minutes from the school building by public transport (maximum).

Studio (from 18 years)
On your own or with the person of your choice, you will occupy a furnished studio located around 15 minutes by public transport from the school building. You will enjoy a private bathroom and kitchen area. Your studio will be cleaned every week and bed linen and towels will also be changed weekly. This accommodation option is ideal to enjoy maximum independence.

The school offers a weekly leisure and activities programme including wine tastings, movie nights, city outings, sport activities and much more. The cruises on the Garonne or the Canal du Midi are very popular, as are the introduction classes to the local sport, basque pelota. A whole range of other outdoor sports are available, including bowls games, water-skiing, kayaking and much more. If you are interested in air transport, don’t miss the Airbus Centre guided tour. Full day or weekend excursions will also be scheduled: explore Albi, the native town of painter Toulouse-Lautrec, with its museum and cathedral, the Tarn Valley, the Gaillac vine stocks and Cathar villages. If you wish to arrange excursions to the nearby Pyrenees or Mediterranean coast on your own, the school will provide you with all useful information to help you organise your getaway.
