As a recognised Sports Tourism Destination by the Catalan government, the beach of Castelldefels is perfect for students who enjoy water sports. In addition, the school also hosts many facilities for conventional sports, and plenty of supplement activities to enjoy them – so you will have plenty of opportunities for sport – both on land and at sea! The school also offers an activity programme included in their curriculum for students to meet new friends and socialise during fun events such as karaoke nights, costume parties, and cooking classes.

COURSE PLUS FOOTBALL

As the home of FC Barcelona, one of the most successful and famous football clubs in the world – Barcelona is considered one of the most iconic cities in the world of football. Furthermore, with its gorgeous weather and plentiful green spaces, the city is ideal for playing outside. But football in Barcelona is not just about playing the game. It is also about experiencing the culture and lifestyle of the city. Students can immerse themselves in the football culture of Barcelona and develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the sport.

Programme This programme consists of daily language lessons alongside 16 x 45-minute sessions of football coaching every two weeks. Lessons will cover the basics of ball conduction and passing, as well as real-game situations. If the group consists of fewer than 8 participants, only technical improvement activities will be carried out.

Materials Football boots, cap, and sun cream

Location At a nearby football club, just a 5-minute private bus ride from the camp

Timing Football lessons are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 15:00 to 17:00 (Including travel time)

COURSE PLUS TENNIS

Tennis is a physically demanding sport that requires plenty of focus and dexterity – making it a great option for students to take part in after a long day of language class. Learning tennis in Barcelona will allow you to spend time in the Spanish sunshine and make new friends while perfecting your tennis skills between classes.

Programme This programme consists of daily language lessons alongside 12 x 45-minute tennis sessions over two weeks. The lessons will teach you the basic strokes (e.g. forehand, backhand, volley) and an introduction to serving techniques.

Materials Students should bring sports shoes, a cap, and sun cream

Location A nearby tennis camp, just a 12-minute walk from the camp

Timing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5-6:30 pm (Including travel time)

COURSE PLUS WATERSPORTS

Barcelona enjoys a unique location, nestled against the warm, calm Mediterranean sea with a warm, pleasant climate – making it the perfect choice for water sports. This programme will allow students to have the full Barcelona experience by taming the waves through a variety of water sports and games after Spanish class.

Programme This programme consists of daily Spanish lessons alongside 8 x 45-minute watersport sessions every two weeks. Students will learn the theory and practice of sailing, windsurfing (ages 13-14), optimist (ages 12 and under), canoeing, and kayaking.

Materials Students should bring water shoes or sandals, a towel, a swimsuit, a cap, and sunscreen

Location A nearby watersport area is just a 15-minute walk from the school.
