Host family
Host families are all chosen with care by the school and live in the city’s residential districts, around 20-45 minutes by public transport from the school. Students stay in single rooms and have the choice of half-board, breakfast only or self-catering. Staying with a host family is your opportunity to discover the local way of life through the language and people.
Colón Language Center residence (from 18 years, minimum 4 weeks)
Located in the heart of the Hamburg city centre, the residence is only intended for students of the Colón Language Center. You will share an apartment located in the Colonnaden 47 school building, where most of the classrooms are located. Some apartments are also located in the neighboring building: in Colonnaden 45. You will stay in a single or double room (triple rooms available on request), and all bedrooms have a satellite TV. Rooms are cleaned daily from Monday to Friday and bed linen is changed once a week. On each floor, there are shared bathrooms. You will be able to cook light meals in the pantry area of the residence, equipped with a microwave, kettle, coffee machine and hotplate. Arrival to (12:00-18:00) and departure from (before 10:00) the residence must take place on a Friday.

Shared apartment (from 18 years, minimum 4 weeks)
Usually called a WG (Wohngemeinschaft), this is a very popular way for students and twenty-somethings to live in Germany. As well as getting good value by living in a shared apartment (around 20–45 minutes from the school by public transport), you will get to know local Germans, whether university students, singles or couples. You will stay in a single furnished room and will share the bathroom and kitchen with your flatmates. Bed linen and bath towels are provided. Household Chores are shared between the roommates.
