Host family

ESL-host-family-accommodation-3

This is a classic option, whose benefits are proven. Staying with a family means being fully immersed in the language and practicing German even after classes with your host family. You can opt for a single room or share a double room for students traveling together. The bathroom and other rooms of the house are shared with the host family, who will not necessarily be a traditional family, but may also consist of a single person or a mono-parental family. The commute from your accommodation to the school will be up to 1 hour by bus – however this can be longer during peak seasons. You will choose from breakfast only and half board. In both cases, you will enjoy daily contact with the inhabitants of this open-minded city.

Leisure

Discover the historical and architectural treasures of your place of stay together with the other students at the school! For a century, commercial activities have played an important role in this hanseatic city and are documented in many of its museums and historical buildings. The Hamburg Dungeon calls up memories of the gruesome times of the plague and witch-hunts. To cheer up after this journey through the dark chapters of Hamburg’s history, take a boat trip in its impressive harbour. Your partner school also organises excursions at the weekend to take you to discover the North Sea coast and cities like Bremen or Lubeck. A trip to Berlin will allow you to visit the Reichstag and the famous Brandenburg Gate. But if you prefer to stay in Hamburg – you will have no problem enjoying yourself in the numerous restaurants, cinemas and theatres of this wealthy city.
