While giving participants an overview of marketing concepts and terminology, this course examines the importance of marketing for businesses and society in general. You will learn the basics of making a marketing plan, understanding the marketing mix and the importance of consumer relationships. In English, you will gain confidence in addressing the basic needs of businesses in planning, developing and managing products, pricing, distribution channels and promotion.
Students will take the International Business and Marketing courses to complete this certificate. They will learn about business in a global context, and will explore the fundamentals of effective marketing planning and strategies.
Marketing (4 weeks)
This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to marketing concepts and terminology. It examines the importance of marketing within organizations and society in general. Participants will study the major components of a marketing plan, the marketing mix and consumer relationships. They will learn how to address companies' basic needs in planning, developing and managing products, distribution channels, promotion and pricing.
International Business
This course introduces students to globalization and to the value-adding activities of businesses in the current global economy. First, they will discuss the impact of national cultures on doing business globally. In addition, they will analyze the external forces that impact businesses, international organizations, legal and labor forces in the global context. Further, the course will focus on strategic alliances and on the impact of rapid environmental changes on strategic planning for international business.
