In the heart of Salamanca, the school is located in the Colegio Calasanz, one of the most prestigious schools in the city, in the heart of the historic centre. ESL Languages Salamanca Colegio Calasanz Residence

Located in the heart of the city centre, this residence is in the same building as the school (classes may take place either onsite or at a location just a 10-minute walk away). You will be placed in a single room with a desk and some storage space. The bathrooms are located on the same floor and are shared between 2 or 3 students. Laundry service is available at an extra cost, and bed linen and towels are supplied The cafeteria welcomes all students for three meals a day in a friendly, international atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi and a computer lab are available but the use of mobile devices on camp is supervised and controlled to ensure that they make the most of their experience. On the leisure side of things, you'll have all the sports facilities of the centre close at hand!

Art workshops
Different workshops will be offered to you in the afternoons. These group activities are an opportunity to meet other students from the school and practise your Spanish outside of class in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Sports
Numerous sports (football, basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, swimming, etc.) and various group games are offered every afternoon. All of these activities are organised and supervised by the school staff who will watch over the students’ safety and well-being.

Evening activities
The social programme of the course also includes numerous evening activities. Organised by the school's activity coordinators, the evening activities will give you an opportunity to get to know the other international students of the school better and have a great time with your friends.

Excursions
There's no risk of you getting bored in Salamanca as two half-days and one full day per week are dedicated to excursions. You will discover the magnificent heritage of Castile and León with your friends and staff from the school. Visits to the two cathedrals, the Casa de las Conchas and the famous university are of course on the schedule, but numerous surprises also await you outside of Salamanca, including Avila or Burgos, the Roman Aqueduct of Segovia, the picturesque villages of La Alberca and Alba de Tormes or Ciudad Rodrigo, on the Portuguese border.

COURSE PLUS HORSE RIDING Horse riding is more than just a sport – it’s about bonding with an amazing animal! In this programme, you’ll learn the ins and outs of this incredible activity alongside daily Spanish lessons. The experienced instructors will be able to adapt the classes to your specific level – no matter whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced rider!

Programme This programme includes daily language lessons alongside 12 horseback riding sessions in two weeks. Beginner students will be initiated into horseback riding by learning balance, control, and basic movements such as turns, cantering, walking, halting and trotting. Advanced learners will perfect these techniques while also learning how to jump obstacles and posturing.

COURSE PLUS PADDLE TENNIS Paddle Tennis (or “Padel” as it’s locally known) is a hugely popular sport in Spain. The game is intense and wonderful for promoting skills such as decision-making and coordination in young learners. When you learn Padel in Spain, you’ll pick up a fun and healthy hobby while practising your Spanish in a natural setting.

Programme This programme includes daily language lessons alongside 12 paddle tennis sessions in 2 weeks. Beginner students will learn the basic strokes (forehand/backhand/balloon/volley) as well as some simple serving techniques and the rules of the game. Advanced students will perfect these techniques while also perfecting their movement and placement on the paddle court.

Materials Students should bring sports clothes/shoes.

Location Students will be transported to the nearby facilities by the school.

COURSE PLUS TENNIS Playing tennis in Spain offers a fun and healthy activity in the sunshine – making it the perfect sport for students to enjoy after a long day of Spanish classes! In this programme, you’ll receive extensive coaching from qualified tennis instructors in multiple aspects of the game. The course will be adapted to your level, so no matter if you’re a complete beginner or the next tennis star – you’ll get the instruction and care you need.

Programme This programme includes daily language lessons alongside 12 tennis sessions in two weeks. The tennis lessons will run through the basic strokes (backhand/forehand/volley), as well as serve techniques, game rules, and practice with both trainers and fellow students. More advanced students may also be perfecting their shots and serve, in addition to their movement on the tennis court.
