Housed in a beautiful 16th-century convent, this Spanish language school is situated in the heart of Salamanca's historic centre. The building is only 100 metres from the famous university and 5 minutes from the splendour of the Plaza Mayor. You will find 17 classrooms, spread out over three floors, a student lounge, a library and a superb patio where you can meet up with students from all over the world and learn the language of Cervantes in the place where it was born.

Salamanca ist die perfekte Stadt für einen SPrachaufenthalt. Sie ist nicht zu gross, man findet sich schnell zurecht und hat kein schlechtes Gewissen, wenn man einfach mal zuhause bleibt und Spanisch übt.Aber sobald man etwas unternehmen möchte, findet man ein vielseitiges Angebot an Konzerten, Bars, Clubs etc. und die Athmosphäre ist freundlich und aktiv durch die vielen Studenten. Klassengrüsse war sehr angenehm (8 Personen). Zum Teil schien mir die Einteilung in die Klassen, also in die verschiedenen Niveaus etwas zufällig... Die LehrerInnen könnten etwas strenger sein. Viele der SchülerInnen sind noch sehr jung uns nehmen zum Teil die Kurse nicht wirklich ernst. Leider halten sie damit die Klasse auf, was aber eher ein Fehler der LeherInnen ist. Die LehrerInnen sollten nicht zu sehr auf die SchülerInnen eingehen, die im Unterricht schlafen oder gar nie auftauchen (wenn sie dann mal auftauchen), sondern sich mehr auf diejenigen konzentrieren die tatsächlich etwas lernen möchten. Die Ausflüge sind sehr gut organisiert und führen an schöne Orte.Vielleicht könnte man auch in Salamanca kleine Führungen / Aktivitäten anbieten. Nur so als Idee.

Salamanca is packed with students and therefore very lively. This makes for a unique, very friendly atmosphere. You get to meet new people very quickly. In Salamanca, everything is at walking distance, which is very pleasant. At the Don Quijote language school, Spanish is taught by very friendly and dedicated teachers. Alongside grammar, they teach us about Spanish specificities and customs. I really enjoyed my three-month language course there!

From the very first moments, this Spanish student town fascinated me. The architecture – which is beautiful by night and by day – as well as the very varied nightlife, conquered me. In Salamanca, one can feel the typically Spanish mentality, tapas and sangria being part of it. All the attractions are nearby and the accommodations are at the most 15 minutes away from the breathtakingly beautiful old town and from the school, which is convenient. I am very pleased to have chosen the Don Quijote School, the teachers are very motivated, very helpful, nice, and they always have an anecdote from their daily life to tell us. In the school building itself there is a café, where you can eat something between two classes or chat with the other students. The interior patio is also a place where students gather and discuss. All in all, I fully enjoyed my stay in Salamanca and I would do another stay at Don Quijote without hesitation.

Here are a few reasons why I am very happy with my language study stay in Spain. First of all, Salamanca is really beautiful. There is a host of small museums and historical buildings to discover. It is not a big city but the atmosphere is warm and the nightlife is very lively thanks to the large number of students. Due to its small size, you don’t even have to use the bus to get around the city centre.

The school is located in an old convent (with a beautiful architecture), which is close to the town centre (5 minutes’ walk to Plaza Major). As regards the school’s teachers and staff, I find them very friendly and always available. I would also like to say that the administrative team fix both small and big issues very quickly.

Finally, I am satisfied with the apartment I share with other foreign students. Not only does it allow me to be independent (as regards meals, for instance), but I also get to know other students and to practise my Spanish with them.

Host family
Selected with the greatest care by our partner school, the host families represent an ideal environment for learning Spanish in authentic cultural immersion. Staying with a host family, you will be in direct contact with the real, everyday life of the country, via the food, culture and language. You will stay in a single room and share breakfast and evening meals with your hosts. This is the best way to improve your language skills outside of class time.

Shared apartment (from 18 years old) Shared apartments are an excellent accommodation option if you are looking for more independence. You will share an apartment with four or five international students from the school. Staying in a single room and sharing the kitchen, living room and bathroom, you will meet people from all over the world and enjoy a highly social experience. The apartments all have a TV and a washing machine, and common rooms are cleaned once a week.

Residence (from 18 years old)
Located in the heart of Salamanca, a 10-20 minutes’ walk from the school, these residences host international as well as Spanish students. They all offer 20-50 single rooms, free Wi-Fi, free computers and many shared bathrooms (ensuite rooms are available at an extra cost). There is no kitchen onsite (only fridges), but there are many restaurants surrounding the residence.

As well as visiting the museums and monuments that reflect the city’s grand past, you can simply explore the sunny streets and charming plazas that surround the school at your own pace.
