Buenos Aires

ESL - Latin America
The programme
The volunteer programme in Buenos Aires is divided into two parts: a Spanish language course and volunteer work in the field. This is your chance to get involved in various areas and extend your stay in Argentina with an enriching experience in collaboration with NGOs and local organisations. A 2-week intensive Spanish course at the school is required to start the volunteer programme, and the better your knowledge of Spanish, the more volunteer opportunities you’ll have. After your course, the school will organise an orientation to inform you about the various volunteer options available.

Examples of volunteer work
Teaching English to the community, after-school programme with children in Buenos Aires, working at a children's home, tutoring and academic support, assisting the elderly at a community centre, etc.

The programme
Once you’ve completed your Spanish course and reached level B1 (required for the volunteer experience), you can start your work in the field. Depending on your starting language level, you should allow 6 to 8 weeks of Spanish classes before actually starting your volunteer experience. This will enable you to reach the level needed to communicate effectively with the locals, although some programmes require a higher level of Spanish (B2). You’ll then be able to start working on one of the available volunteer work projects.
