I had three reasons for choosing ILS:, I wanted to learn diversity, I've been interested in Indian culture and I wanted to do something for the poor. I had some problems about listening and speaking but now I can speak better and understand what Indians say. My English skills have been improved. ILSC is the best place to communicate with someone in English. This circumstance made me hard to study with wonderful classmates. I really like conversation class because there are a lot of opportunities to speak English as much as possible. I played football with many students in a park as an activity at ILSC. This was a big chance to make friends a lot.

I've stayed alone in an apartment near ILSC but this is a good experience to build a relationship with neighborhood. I can't choose a favorite teacher, they were all funny and friendly. If I can't understand, the teachers explained until I understand. One day, I walked on the street and some Indian men carried something like a portable shrine. They carried water from the Ganges to Delhi. It is 300km. I respected them for maintaining a tradition. I didn't have foreign friends before studying at ILSC. I talked to many friends and I felt a different thinking and culture, and it is easy to make friends in ILSC because each class is small. I was really excited. Thank you!

The first feeling is not always the right one. First, when I arrived in Delhi, I was like a fish out of water. This city is destabilizing; but in a positive way! In time, you’ll discover new traditions, wonderful places, and especially as has been for me, kind Indian people. Sometimes, the streets are very crowded and this used to scare me. But now, I like to go around by myself and every time be surprised by Indian people and Indian culture. At the school, I’ve been welcomed with big smiles and all the staff are very helpful and nice. All our questions are patiently answered and we always feel like at home. Another good point about ILSC New Delhi is that, not only they have many students from all over the world, but they also have Indian students so that you can make friends with some local people. I am happy to learn English and at the same time experience a mixture of cultures, especially the Indian culture which is very different from European culture.

It’s my 8th week in New Delhi. My initial project was to do a language stay in a fancy place in the US or in Australia, but then, the opportunity of learning English at ILSC in New Delhi came up unexpectedly. I found it very interesting, because I study Economics and India is considered a rising economic power. Now, 2 months later, I can say that I am very satisfied with my choice. The school guarantees the same standards as in any other destination. Classes are focused on communication, but you can also choose between different optional courses (Business English, IELTS preparation…).
And then you have the Indian reality, which gives an added value to the stay. If you spend some time here, you’ll see a reality that is completely different from the European one. This is why this experience is very inspiring. If you need to learn English but you also want a meaningful experience, choose New Delhi. I also recommend to follow the “English on the road” activity programme, as it will take you to different Indian sites such as the Rajasthan region or the Himalaya.

At first, I wasn’t sure what the school and the accommodation would be like, because I had made my reservation online. However, as soon as I stepped into the school, I had a good feeling.

The teachers are very professional and monitor every student in the group. They make sure that students feel comfortable and they never hesitate to explain something twice if necessary. The homework also helps improve. The school is clean and comfortable and all the staff members are friendly and willing to help if necessary. I learnt a lot and, most importantly, I gained the confidence to speak in English.

I also enjoyed getting to spend time with people from all around the world. I made new friends, which was great, also because I could practice my English during my free time. The leisure programme was very fun, especially the trips and movie nights. I intend to recommend this school to all my friends who want to study languages abroad.
