My language stay in Calgary was simply fantastic. The school was amazing: not too big, very international, with competent teachers. The director makes everyone feel confortable and does her best to turn the school into a second home, which is very important in this kind of experiences. The leisure activities are very cool and varied. My host family was very nice; they respected my private life and let me free to do whatever I wanted to do, within the rules.
I really liked Calgary; it is a nice, American-style city, with a lot of green areas and amazing bars and clubs (go to Ranchman, I loved it!). I also recommend to rent a car and visit the Rockies, about 45-60 minutes away: in Banff, you will be able to ski and heliski, try a snowmobile, go hiking or to the thermal baths. The most impressive thing will be the huge space you will see around you. A Russian friend gave me this advice: go outside, meet Canadians and speak to them. Even if you don’t understand them in the beginning, do it, it’s really worth it. And I can confirm they are amazing.
