Study English in the beating heart of this lively capital! Our partner school is located on the prestigious George Street, where it occupies a Georgian building with a fantastic view of Edinburgh Castle just minutes from Saint Andrew Square and Princes Street. There are 14 classrooms spread over 3 floors hosting exciting and fun classes taught by qualified teachers who love teaching English. Students wanting to study on their own can use the computer area (free Wi-Fi throughout the building) and teaching materials available in the study room/library (CDs, DVDs, books, newspapers, etc.). At break time, the international students can head to the large common room to watch the wide-screen TV and make plans for the weekend. The best shops, bars, cafés, restaurants and nightclubs are just outside the school’s doors, so you can dive into Edinburgh’s bustling streets after your English classes!

If I had to summarize my stay in Edinburgh in one word, that word would be: amazing! Not only I improved my English, but I also made progress on a personal and professional level. I met many people from around the world and we are still in touch!

At the heart of the New Town of Edinburgh, on the stately street of George Street, the school of English opened its doors more than a decade ago and has been teaching English to students from all over the world. On the outside, it’s a building with a remarkable architecture, like most of the buildings there. On the inside, there is a lively gathering of students and teachers and a diverse mix of accents, which make this not only a learning experience, but also an interesting life experience. With schedules almost à la carte (three hours in the morning, extra lessons in the afternoon) and a well-prepared and helpful teacher staff, it’s almost impossible not to find a personalized course. Each class is not a world, it’s several worlds, because there are students from every corner of the world map: Switzerland, Angola, Japan, Germany… and only a few Spanish, what a blessing! It’s a school, but also a meeting point because every afternoon they offer a different plan to the students. A visit to the National Gallery, a stroll through the amazing Botanical Garden, conversations around a coffee or a beer (or two or three…). These optional activities complement the academic aspect and allow students to get to know each other and practice "speaking" (which is the most difficult part!). Why don’t you join us?

I decided to go to Edinburgh because I really wanted to visit Scotland. It was a great choice. I liked the city from the very first minute and, once I got to know it a bit better, I saw that it was friendly and convenient, with a great atmosphere and lots to do. Before my trip I was slightly concerned about the accent but, at least in Edinburgh, it’s not that strong and the teachers at the school speak very clearly.

The school is centrally located and has excellent facilities. Furthermore, the teachers were great and managed to make lessons dynamic and fun. Time really seemed to fly during the lessons and I improved my language skills almost without noticing. I also enjoyed the activities organised by the school in the afternoons, which allowed us students to get to know each other during city visits or when we went to the pub listening to live music or having a chat.

I stayed at a student residence in which the staff was always willing to solve any type of problem that came up. The residence was for students in general, but had an area just for people attending BSC, with a common area for every 4 students. It was pretty nice and quiet.

I would recommend Edinburgh to anyone who is considering going there. My stay only lasted one week, but I definitely would have liked to stay longer.

Edinburgh: the best of Scotland. The Royal Mile, in the heart of the old town, leads you up to the impressive Edinburgh Castle which dominates the city. Take a free guided tour of the castle with a guard in period dress and learn more about this building’s exciting history, which now hosts the annual parade of the Royal Military Tattoo. In August, don’t miss Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival: almost 4 weeks of intense celebration with parties and street shows in every part of Edinburgh’s city centre, with some events taking place directly outside the school building.
You will also get a chance to get to know your fellow students by taking part in the activities organised by the school, including Scottish dancing, art gallery visits, live concerts in city pubs, cheese and wine tasting, films, sport, etc. Weekend optional excursions will take you shopping in Glasgow, on a tour of the Highlands to explore the medieval Stirling Castle, Loch Ness and its monster or whisky tasting in the Glengoyne distillery.
