Official Exams and Certificates - Italian
Recognised internationally, Italian certificates will benefit anyone hoping to develop relationships with Italian businesses or undertake studies in a higher education institution in Italy.
- The University for Foreigners Siena - CILS (Certificate of Italian as a foreign language)
The CILS exams are divided into four levels and usually run twice a year (June and December). The exam is produced and evaluated by the Centre of Certification of the University for Foreigners Siena, based on European parameters set out by the European Council. CILS certificates are issued by the University for Foreigners Siena and have an excellent reputation.

With it's head office in Florence, the “Accademia Italiana di Lingua” (AIL) is an association of language schools, teaching institutions and national and foreign experts working in the domain of teaching the Italian language to foreigners. AIL offers exams at different levels so that candidates can obtain certificates attesting to their knowledge of Italian.
